Rakuten Super Sale!

Ironically as I was writing this post about Japan fashion trends, I was also packing for my trip to Japan.

Rakuten Malaysia has spotted several Spring/Summer 2014 trends from Japan and anticipates a flourish of pastel and vibrant colours that draws the eye to the fine detailing of elegant lace or illustrated with floral prints.

As daunting as it seems to be able to full off a girly and sweet look, the trick to this is to just pick one detail or print, either lace or floral and balance it out with colour-blocking in pastel for a day event and vibrant for a night or evening affair.

Japan's biggest online shop, Rakuten is bringing these Japanese-inspired attires to Malaysia and is making it available to us Malaysians at affordable prices. And I haven't even gotten to the part about the sale yet. On top of the already reasonable prices of Rakuten, shoppers can also get discounts during the Rakuten Super Sale! The Super Sale kicks off on 1 April to 10 April 2014 so mark your calenders!

There are tons of shops involved in the Super Sale this time ranging from fashion to electronics to food (KIT KAT from Japan, anyone?). A few of my favourite shops would be Toki Choi for their classical and sweet collection that is very suitable for work and smart casual affairs, Bagstation for their collection of stylish and versatile bags and also Afraldo for comfortable simple footwear.  Here is a list of shops with some pretty cool stuff. Speaking of which, let me share my Rakuten experience.

I ordered 4 pieces of tops from Luvclo on Wednesday night using my Rakuten Super Point (perks of being a Rakuten member - you get rewarded while you shop) and only expected them to arrive next week which means I would only be able to see them once I get back from Japan.

But lo and behold, a parcel arrived at my office on Friday morning (less than two days later) via Airpak Express! Imagine my thrill and excitement (as well as the rest of the office as they shared my excitement) as I ripped it open to find my orders, all neatly bundled up in their original packaging. In my excitement, I forgot to take pictures....paiseh.

But ta-da! One third of my shopping hurl from Luvclo!

I am one happy shopper :D

Not only is Luvclo reasonable, they are fast too and the product quality is good. I think their customer reviews speaks for itself.

I've also ordered more clothes from Toki Choi and a bag from PGMall but as that was done a day later, I have no expectations of them arriving within a day. Guess I will just have to wait until I get back from Japan.

To make shopping even more entertaining, Rakuten will be rewarding shoppers with up to 10 times Super Points at certain times during the Super Sale.  Rakuten Super Points are given to Rakuten members when they shop – 100 Super Points are worth RM1 which can be spent on products across the website during the next purchase.

In addition to its sale, Rakuten has also launched the Rakuten Happy Panda stickers, a series of 16 limited edition stickers in partnership with LINE, a popular mobile messaging app amongst Malaysians. These adorable stickers are available to Malaysian LINE users and can be downloaded from 18 March onwards.
