This was one of the few places I wished had opened when I was working at Blu Inc Media a long time ago. A nice coffee specialist cafe right in the backyard of the office. Kings Hall is the latest addition to the rapidly revamping Section 13 industrial area. Taking up the space next to the SportsCity Futsal Court, the cafe boasts its own parking lot and coffee roastery by Toothless Coffee Roaster.
The cafe was minimalist, simple and spacious with a lot of natural lighting and multiple sitting options be it for coffee, cakes and coffee. There was even a small private room with wide windows for meetings. Granted the chair selections were a little uncomfortable, possibly to discourage sitting at the cafe for long hours but for a short visit, those chairs were fine and added to the aesthetics of the place.
Walk past the counter to see their in-house roastery and for some up-close brewing, grab a seat in front of the roastery. My favourite spot was the long high table in front of the long window facing the futsal court for its sunniness and of course, plug points. The cafe was fairly new when I visited it, about a week after its soft opening so its menu was pretty limited.
I ordered the Chicky Egg Sandwich (RM15), basically scrambled eggs with chicken floss atop a waffle with a decent side of salad. The waffle was on the softer side but tasted delicious with the creamy eggs and floss.
Of course, coffee was important to me and even though I didn't get the usual aromatic scene of brewing coffee as I was sitting there, I did find the coffee to be quite delicious especially the flat white (RM11). Milky enough without masking the notes of the coffee. I later also opted for the house brew coffee (RM10) which wasn't too acidic or overpowering on the palate.
Kings Hall also offers a limited amount of cakes and scones which I didn't order this time but I shall on my next visit. I really look forward to seeing what this cafe has to offer in the future.
