Under Armour: Women of Will Campaign

I love getting fit and working towards a personal fitness goal. It gives me direction and some thing to focus on that is beneficial for myself and no one else. Most importantly it made me take care of me.

And this was the core message shared at the launch of Under Armour's Women of Will Campaign on the rooftop of Avenue K. Held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness month, the campaign celebrates the Pink Ribbon cause. And even though BCA month is over, Under Armour continues to carry this purpose strongly in its stores with donations pledges made from 10% of all proceeds from its Power in Pink range for the entire month of October to Breast Cancer Welfare Association. In addition to proceeds benefiting BCWA, Under Armour has also set up donation boxes at all Brand Houses to be used at the discretion of patrons.

Championing a cause close to her heart, Puan Nori Tun Abdullah officially launched the campaign with local personalities Nadia Heng, Yvonne Lee, Isabella Wong, and the Under Armour Malaysia Brand Athletes.

At the event, Puan Nori Tun Abdullah said “The recent National Sports Day initiative has indeed seen Malaysians starting to become more conscious about their health. As such, they seek fresh, new ways to incorporate fitness into their daily lives. Recognizing this need, the Women of Will campaign promotes healthy living with the message that staying healthy is a long term investment."

She also shares her history with breast cancer, “Some years ago, when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, it was the most testing of times. Losing her to the disease was even more difficult to handle. It cannot be stressed how crucial awareness and early detection are in preventing this avertible disease. Being conscious of your own physical body, self-examination and a good quality of overall fitness are all simple methods we can adopt in our lives. It is certainly encouraging that events like these spread awareness. With Under Armour, we hope to bring the Will to the Women!”

After the launch, members of the media and the public were treated to a yoga session led by Atilia Haron. The renowned songstress and certified yoga instructor took participants through a gentle but strength enhancing routine. Right after, Nana Al Haleq took over, pushing participants to their limits with her very own style of circuit training. This is the core of the Women of Will Campaign where the public are inspired to take control and fully own their pursuit to a healthier lifestyle.

So get off your bum-bum today and find your fitness goals and work towards it.
