Good News for Millennials: Jaya Grocer flagship store has opened in Sunway Pyramid

Jaya Grocer has always been my go-to place for groceries, so I was thrilled to hear about the grand opening of their new flagship store at Sunway Pyramid on 1 November 2024. The upgraded location, replacing the previous one at Sunway Pyramid, has brought a fresh and exciting new vibe to the mall's latest extension wing. With its revitalised layout and exclusive offerings, it’s clear why Jaya Grocer continues to be a local favourite—and my personal favourite as well.

The grand opening was an event to remember, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Jaya Grocer’s CEO, Daniel Teng, and Chairperson Adelene Foo. It kicked off a weekend full of exciting shopping opportunities as the Deepavali holiday drew crowds eager to experience the store’s upgraded features. I joined in to explore the updated offerings, which focus on high-quality fresh produce and unique shopping experiences tailored for local residents and the diverse Sunway community, including international students and multicultural families.

One of the standout features that immediately caught my eye was the live seafood cutting station, where customers can watch as seafood is freshly prepared. It’s a captivating addition and speaks to Jaya Grocer’s emphasis on quality and freshness. Jaya Grocer also collaborates with local farmers from Cameron Highlands and Orang Asli communities in Pahang and Johor, bringing farm-fresh, sustainable produce directly to shoppers like me. This personal touch and dedication to supporting local suppliers adds a unique appeal to my grocery trips.

But what truly sets this flagship store apart is the addition of exclusive treats and offerings that I’ve quickly become addicted to, especially at the Baker’s Son, which serves an array of Croissant Creations, like the Chicken Breast, Salted Beef, and Egg Mayo and Tuna croissants. These are only available at this store, starting at just RM9.90.

Beyond the core grocery items, Jaya Grocer’s new setup includes exciting sub-tenants that make it easy to grab a quick bite without leaving the store. Whether it’s the fresh bagels at I’m Bagel, the authentic flavours of K Kitchen’s Korean dishes, or the high-quality Japanese offerings at Toyosuya, there’s something for every craving. These options make Jaya Grocer feel more like a gourmet market than a regular supermarket.

As a Jaya Grocer frequent shopper, I also appreciate the Jaya Grocer Membership programme integrated with Grab. This loyalty programme offers incredible perks, including points that can be redeemed for discounts. Since it’s connected with the GrabRewards ecosystem, it’s a seamless way to save on everyday purchases—another reason why Jaya Grocer stands out in my routine.

For those who couldn’t make it to the grand opening, the celebrations continue throughout November, with exclusive deals, live demonstrations, cooking showcases, and food sampling events. It’s the perfect time to experience what makes Jaya Grocer special.

Ultimately, Jaya Grocer’s commitment to providing an elevated shopping experience, fresh and locally sourced products, and exciting food options make it my top choice. With plans for more innovative store formats, I look forward to seeing how Jaya Grocer will continue to surprise and delight us. Whether it’s a quick grocery run or a leisurely shopping experience, Jaya Grocer never disappoints.
