2D1N Itinerary in Ipoh, Perak

It's often a pity that Ipoh was only viewed a foodie pitstop for those heading up to Penang. Only in recent years, thanks to social media, more hidden gems have been unearthed. One being mirror lake (don't confuse it with the Shah Alam lake) and the main objective of my most recent 2D1N trip to Ipoh.

Of course, as the planning progressed, more attractions around and about in Ipoh were added to the list and we only had 24 hours.

[Cafe Review] 270 SQFT, Seapark PJ

Hidden in Seapark, Petaling Jaya is a cafe that is literally only 270 square feet in size and hence its astute name, 270 SQFT. Helmed by Vivien, 270 SQFT opened in the middle of Dec 2020 right smack in the center between two traditional coffeeshops, a duck rice restaurant and a car workshop in one of the oldest part of Petaling Jaya.

[Hotel Review] Four Points by Sheraton Chinatown 2D1N Staycation

Chinatown Kuala Lumpur has garnered some hype on social media for the revamping of Kwai Chai Hong and the emergence of many bars, cafes and traditional-turned-modern eateries built into the historical shoplots. It is in reminiscent of what Penang has done with Georgetown and it's certainly a step in the right direction to preserve the charms of the area. Weekends often sees swamps of visitors taking to the streets to check out the alley and instagrammable cafes in the area.

And swiftly becoming an easy identifiable landmark in Chinatown is Four Points by Sheraton Chinatown. I recently enjoyed a staycation at the hotel thanks to Triumph Malaysia and the first thought that came to mind was...I can check out the bars in the area and just head back to my room after! Better yet, I can just roll out of bed and check out the morning scene of Chinatown.

[Hotel Review] OYO RG Heritage Boutique Hotel, Penang

If there is one tip I will given you when in Penang, is stay in a heritage hotel. Trust me. It's quite an experience being able to appreciate the architecture and design of these old shoplots or house turned accommodation. These hotels are also often more affordable and strategically located within proximity of the good food that Penang is known for.

Case in point: my recent stay at OYO RG Heritage Boutique Hotel.

[App Review] Booking a car on Trevo for a Penang Roadtrip

Did you know that 90% of a car's lifetime is spent parked? Go to work, park car. Go home, park car. Go to shopping mall, paktor and park car. Does getting stuck in traffic jam count as parked?

Basically, despite all our ride-sharing and public transportation options, Malaysians still love owning their own car (or in some cases, cars) but with the price of convenience, comes the price of literally watching your cash burn away. Every car owner should know that cars do not appreciate in value.

But what if there was a way for your car to pay itself off? That's where Trevo comes in. To put it simply, it's like Airbnb for cars. If you have a car just sitting in your house, you can put it up on Trevo to be booked by a guest in need of a car. Guests, like myself when I needed a sedan car for my road trip to Penang.

Adventure awaits us in Malaysia's Backyard with Sedunia Travel

The final day has finally arrived when the government has opened up interstate travelling to Malaysia. While it still means I can't go back to my Kampung aka Japan, it does open up the country for economic recovery and an opportunity for people to explore their own country aka their own backyard.
Why travel so far when we have stunning pristine beaches just a quick drive or flight away? Hm, I might just hop on a flight to Kuching to get my fill of Sarawak Laksa. But with a limited budget and leave days, a weekend trip seems like a better idea for now. Ready to take Malaysians on an adventure with the introduction of their domestic travel campaign, In MY Backyard, Sedunia Travel has a plethora of local travel packages that showcases the beauty and appeal of our very own country.
