Slowing myopia in children with Hoya's MiyoSmart spectacle lens

Hands up if you're like me and spent the better part of your childhood seated in front of the telly, staring unblinkingly as vibrant cartoons and superheroes flashed across the screen. If I could go back in time, I would drag seven year old me far and away from the television, thus saving myself the torment of glasses and contact lens much later on.

3-in-1 Philips SpeedPro Max Aqua

From sweeping to mopping to dusting and just tidying up, keeping the house clean can almost amount to a full-time job. One that remains unappreciated even until today. I am sure many ladies would agree. I remember reading up on menial workload, something that doesn't require training or skills to perform and thus deemed unimportant. But someone needs to do it.

Healthier Cooking for More with the new Philips Airfryer XXL

Let's face it. Fried food is bae. There's just something about the decadent crunch, mixture of oil and juiciness of the flesh that are just so sinful and irresistible. As you can tell, I am huge fan of fried food. But I am not a huge fan of the sinking feeling of guilt that usually follows after.

Now if there was only a way to get a healthier form of that delicious fried taste. Oh wait, there is and it just got bigger. Philips Malaysia recently launched the Philips Airfryer XXL (HD9630/99) armed with the all new Twin TurboStar Technology and the first to incorporate Fat Removal Technology at a larger capacity. It can easily handle a whole chicken or up to 1.4kg of fries for up to 6 portions at one go.

Touch Your Memories with Droprint app

As a writer, I always felt that there was something personal about writing down my thoughts. As a photographer, being able to hold my photos in my fingers seems to bring the images to life. It's almost as though you are imparting a part of yourself into ink when you write or print out these thoughts and memories.

While Instagram and Facebook do have their appeal when it comes to sharing photos, there is nothing quite like printing out your photos and pinning them up over your desk. Thanks to modern tech and a little niffy app called Droprint, you can have your photos selected, printed on nice glossy photo papers or as a memorabilia photobook and delivered to you.

Farewell to RX-78-2 Gundam, Hello to a Bigger Mecha

5th March was a sad day for many Gundam fans in Odaiba, Tokyo as it was the last day for them to see the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam before it was dismantled after 5 years of dutifully watching over Diver City.

I myself had made it a point to visit the Gundam Statue on my recent trip to Tokyo and knowing the limited time it had left, spent the evening and night photographing the statue. Even though I never watched the original anime that featured RX-78-2 Gundam, I did watch the Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny and Gundam 00 in college and did waste a lot of study time, playing Gundam Seed Destiny on my Playstation 2.

Confession: Gundam Strike Freedom and Strike Noir were my favourite to use in combat.

5 Things I die-die want from Lazada for 2017

It's Chinese New Year and I am already going broke from all the eating and driving around and treating family to makan-mkan. Ang pau? What ang pau? Ooooh, you mean those red packets used to finance all of the above? Gone. Kautim. Habis.

FML.

Like any poor person, online shopping seemed like the best form of therapy and so I started browsing on Lazada to look for the stuff I need for my travelling trips in February. Well, let's just say the need list became a whole lot longer after three solid hours of surfing on Lazada. BUT to summarise it for you, here are five things I really really really really really want from Lazada to aid with my content making on my travels.

Ezbuy Malaysia: Taobao in English

In this day and age, online shopping is the way to go. Easy, hassle free and your boss won’t catch you running off to a mall for a new wardrobe now and then. We are literally spoiled for choice with sites like Zalora, Lazada and Taobao for us to shop on for our fashion and gadget fixes.

While I have shopped plenty on Zalora and Lazada, I have not purchased anything from Taobao for one simple yet significant reason….EVERYTHING IS IN CHINESE.

Philips Steam Plus 2-in-1 Sweep and Steam Cleaner review

So the last time, I had a chance to review Phil, Philips' steam cleaner. This time, I got a chance to try out his more... multifunctional cousin, the Steam Plus 2-in-1 Sweep and Steam cleaner and I am quite excited to review this unit because it could be the answers to all my household woes.

There is a weekly routine in my household that I absolutely loath and that is sweeping and mopping the floor. My house is quite big with a lot of hard-to-reach corners that gather dust quite easily. Navigating a ratty old broom can be quite a challenge as I always had to make sure I got every bit of dust there is before mopping otherwise it would be giant wet ball of hair, fur and dirt. Other than that, there is the issue of re-dipping the mop into a bucket of dirty water. Is that like, mopping the floor with dirty water anyway? My mom says the floor detergent will take care of that but ew.

Logitech M280 Mouse review

After 4 years of faithful servitude, it finally happened. My laptop's touchpad lost its touch. Like literally. I can barely control my cursor with the touchpad now and on top of that, whenever the laptop is plunged in and charging, the cursor runs amok and just starts clicking at random, causing me to accidentally erase my work multiple times. Several times, I have come very close to chucking my laptop out the window...

It's amazing how something as simple as a touchpad could be taken for granted. Then fortunately, I managed to get my hands on the latest Logitech M280 mouse. Compared to the M235 mouse, this one had a more ergonomically form for comfortable use. In other words, it fills my palm much better this time, making it perfect for long hours of usage.

Philips Steamcleaner Active review

Meet Phil. Short for Philips Steamcleaner Active.

For about a month now, Phil has been the center of attention amongst us girls in the Wee household, mainly due to his potential to make the weekly chore of cleaning the floor easier for us. You see, Phil has many good qualities  and a few not-so-good ones.

WeChat Launch Party @ Neverland

I chat, you chat, we all can chat. That's WeChat!

Sorry, no, that is not its tagline but with so many interesting functions like sending a voice message, Shake and Look Around, WeChat is definitely 'the new way to connect' for everyone.

To celebrate its ever growing popularity, WeChat threw a massive party at Neverland Kuala Lumpur on 2 April 2013 which saw a huge turnout of bloggers and media members braving the rain and KL traffic to reach the club.

The fun started at the entrance where a photo backdrop was set up where you can take pictures with the adorable WeChat plushie and the WeChat girls. There was also a photobooth Puripuka-style which everyone just loved because the photo was printed out on the spot and we have an instant memory of the awesome night ahead.

The party kicked off with an energetic dance performance followed up the entrance of the night's emcee, Rudy. Mr. Poshu Yeung, Vice President of Tencent International Business took to the stage to deliver his speech before officially announcing the launch of WeChat's commercial starring WeChat's ambassadors, Lisa Surihani and Shaheizy Sam.

A series of local acts soon got the crowd hyped as the guests mingled and feasted upon the buffet line, free flow of beer and plenty of cupcakes.

Thoughout the evening, the host played several games with the unsuspecting victims sporting participants in the audience. DJ SykoGroove took over with his sick beats to which the dancers from the performance earlier freestyle-danced to.

The event wrapped with a lucky draw and one lucky soul went home with a brand new ipad. I am sure he'll download WeChat onto it as soon as possible.

Doodle my Phone Cases

Back when my dad was stationed in Bangkok, I went there so often that it felt like I should apply for dual citizenship with Thailand. I loved it there. The people, the streets, the food (oh, the food!) and of course the shopping.

And there was one thing I would always buy whenever I was there. Handphone casings for my iPhone. The designs were endless and not to mention, dirt cheap especially if you know how to bargain or plan to buy them in bulk. You can get a simple casing for only 100baht (RM10) or at most 250baht (RM25) for the more intricate designs.

Then my relationship with Bangkok came to an end when my dad ended his contract there and came back to Malaysia permanently. That meant no more cheap pretty hand phone casings for me because those found in Malaysia, original are freaking expensive!

On top of that, I just got myself an iPhone 4S and the casing that came with it was swiped by my dad for his own iPhone....which left my phone butt naked.

As luck would have it, right about the same time, my friend Senri announced her blog collaboration with Doodle Cases, a blogshop that specialises in reasonable fancy phone casings and accessories.

Living by their motto is 'Affordability and Variety. Because your gadgets need to dress up too!', I did find several (read: a lot) of eye-catching designs for my new phone. And at prices that won't break my bank account.

As you can imagine, I went a little crazy in selecting and ordering my designs.I even forced persuaded my mom to order one for her Samsung. So I made the order via email and paid via Maybank2U. While I opted for delivery by poslaju, Doodle Cases also does COD. Now that's hassle-free!

I initially ordered four cases for myself and one for mummy dearest. But unfortunately, the Iron Man design I wanted was out of stock and they didn't know when it would be coming in. Instead of keeping quiet about it, the owner contacted me immediately to inform me. I told her I didn't mind waiting for it.
A week later, she emailed me again with an update and recommended refunding me the amount for the Iron Man case as their supplier has no idea when stocks would be in. Could be days, weeks or months. So this time, I agreed to it and within two days, the refund was made and my casings were on the way. Talk about honest efficiency.
A few days later, a package arrived for me and like a small kid, I tore it open!

And here they are! Captain America (RM32), Elegant purple with gold sides (RM22) and the Autumn Trees (RM38) are for my iPhone while the red polka dotted (RM32) is for my mom's Samsung.

The total damage would have come up to RM130 for all four plus delivery charges but thanks to Senri, I got them at a discounted price. And so can you too, by hopping over to her blog to get the special discount code. Just quote the code when making your order to get the discount. It's that simple!
So here's how to again:
Step 1: Go to Journey of the Little Biscuit blog and find the post with the code.
Step 2: Go to Doodle Cases and pick your favourite phone design(s).
Step 3: Email Doodle Cases with your order and the code.
Step 4: Make your payment and wait for your cases to arrive.
Besides handphone casings, Doodle Cases also have accessories for your phones and iPads.
Starbucks ear caps.
 Happy Phone-accessory/casing Shopping!!
