Introducing Viper 2 Four.
Brought to you by the organisers of Viper Challenge, Viper 2 Four is Asia's only obstacle endurance event where participants can compete individually or in a team of four. All one needs to do is complete as many rounds of the course as possible within a 24 hour time period. As daunting as it sounds, it doesn't need to be when you have a team and/or support crew to rely on for support. The top three in each category of male, female and team will stand a chance to walk away with cash prizes.
Individual competitors are allowed a support crew much like F1 drivers with them in the tent area to help them change, freshen up and anything else to help keep them going. For those in the team event, you and your teammates just need to hit the 8km course two people at a time. As a pair, overcome the obstacles laid out in the course and if you feel good after one round, do it again or rotate with your other teammates for a break.
Participants will be allocated with a tent space for their team and/or support crew. There'll be food trucks and vendors available on site to feed the hungry (and me) as well as toilets and showers to freshen up throughout the day.
I'll be taking part as well with my team C2T2 and we have been training hard for it with meetings at burger joints and coffee shops (Actually there was more eating involved than actual training la). Whether we'll survive 24 hours of the course, well, I have no doubt we'll.
But how many rounds will we complete in 24 hours? Well, you just need to be there to see it.
If the thought of going at it for 24 hours is freaking you out, don't be. Think of it as going at it for 24 hours in a playground. Just have fun. You don't need to be a pro elite athlete to do this. Just about anyone with a decent fitness level can handle this and if you're too tired to go on, well, that's what the team category is for.
It's not about the prize money, it's about challenging yourself and of course, the bragging rights to say: I survived Viper 2 Four. It will be a once in a lifetime experience for many of us and with the right company, it'll be an experience that money can't buy.
