Cooking can be a chore at times but thankfully places like Japan have come up with a way to make getting yummy food convenient. Case in point - Namikata Japanese Curry. Available in both seafood and chicken, Namikata takes out the hassle of having to make your own curry and meat by prepacking it in one easily heated bag.
Thanks to TOCOO Mall, I got to try out the Namikata Seafood Japanese Curry. Truth be told I didn't expect it to be so easy to prepare and even when the extra mile of purchasing potato, carrots and so on in case the curry wasn't enough. Well shame on me for having little faith in the Japanese. The only downside was the instruction being in Japanese and even google translate was little help. But somehow I figure it out eventually.
This curry is super convenient if you have a portion of leftover rice and have no idea what to do with it. In just 10-15 minutes, you can whip up a wholesome meal that would make your Japanese ancestors proud.
Preparing it was as easy as 1, 2, 3! Here we go!
Step 1: Fill a pot with 500ml of water and bring it to boil.
Step 2: Remove curry packet from box and place the unopened packet in boiling water for 5-10 minutes.
Step 3: Carefully remove packet from water and pour it all over a bowl of rice, serve and feast!
You can opt to add on a fried egg as well to complete the experience but the curry on its own was pretty delicious! There are small chunks of seafood inside and the distinct taste (the good kind) of seafood is apparent in the curry. The portion can in fact suffice for two people unless you're like me and can finish one by yourself.
While going to Japan to buy goodies from there may be impossible now, you can order a fair amount of Japanese stuff from TOCOO Mall (Namikata seafood or chicken) and have them delivered to Malaysia.
