Shutterbugs and instagrammers, if there is one spot you must visit in Seoul, it's the Starfield Library located in Asia's largest underground mall, COEX Mall in Gangnam. You will be surprised to learn that the library is a permanent part of the mall and open to all.
The two storey open space library is home to over 50,000 books and magazines with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. Occasionally there will be centerpieces set up right smack in the middle of the library depending on the season.
There is no perfect time to visit this stunning gem of Seoul. Come during the day to see the sunlight spilling in to create shadows dancing across the floors and books. Come in the evening to see the library come alive with a warm ambiance. It's recommended to visit Starfield on the weekdays to avoid the local crowd.
Be prepared to go up and down the escalator many times to get that perfect shot. The locals are used to see tourists and even Koreans flock to the library for photos and doesn't react much. But let's be considerate in our endeavor for the gram.
