We came across Coastes in Sentosa Singapore by luck. We were hungry and tired, having just ran through a 10km, 10+ obstacles OCR, Viper Challenge. Post race, we returned to Costa Sands resort, my hotel on Sentosa to freshen up before heading back to the beachside strip in search of food.
Thankfully, Coastes caught our nose and our eyes with the delicious scent of seafood and its blue and white hues perfect for the beachside setting.

Starbucks Japan Sakura Collection 2016
The last time I was in Japan around Sakura season, I missed the Starbucks Sakura collection by weeks. Everywhere I went, it was all sold out.
BUT NOT THIS YEAR! BWAHAHAHAH!
Because just like how people monitor the sakura season in Japan, I monitor Starbucks Japan's seasonal merchandise and beverage and lo and behold!
Their 2016 Sakura collection is launching just a day before I arrive at Kansai International Airport on 15 February to mid April or while stocks last. This will be the first of two collections that Starbucks Japan will be selling for the Sakura season this year. The Sakura Serene range offers pastel softer colours in its collection of merchandise that range from tumblers to cups to cards.

Kyoto Marathon 2016 - 30km LSD
On 31 Jan, exactly three weeks before Kyoto Marathon, I ran my longest distance ever - 30km. Just 5km more than my 25km run 2 weeks prior but undoubtedly my hardest training session to date. Simply because the route chosen was hella hilly thanks to the Bukit Tunku-Sri Hartamas combo.
Mum and I tackled our usual Bukit Tunku route (I am really beginning to like that route a lot) at the wee hours in the morning and were joined by a group of super fast runners training along the same course. We crossed the road over to Sri Hartamas side and as the front pack continued on their merry way, we quickly lost sight of them. Oh well.

Budget accommodation on Sentosa Singapore - Costa Sands Resort
Finding a reasonable place to stay on Sentosa island, Singapore is near impossible. I say near impossible because I or rather my mother found a freakishly reasonable hotel called Costa Sands Resort. If you're expected a rundown dodgy hotel with loose windows, cobwebs in the ceilings with an eerie silence, you couldn't be more wrong. Although not at its prime, Costa Sands offers all the facilities needed for an enjoyable restful stay on the island.
Costa Sands is located on the hillside above Siloso beach with a staircase leading straight to the beach road and the row of restaurants located at the seaside. Being placed on the hillside amidst a jungle and a trail gave it a lovely hideaway, back-to-nature concept especially with its Kampung Hut chalets.

First JD Sports in Asia Launched in Sunway Pyramid Malaysia
Yesterday marked the official launch of JD Sports in Sunway Pyramid not just in Malaysia but for the whole of Asia as well.
If you're looking for new fashionable kicks, then this is the place to go.
Breaking away from what is expected of a sports apparel store launch, guests, which included local media, bloggers and fashion enthusiasts were entertained by a DJ, street style dance performance cum fashion show highlighting the sporting fashion wear carried by the British retailer and its partnering brands.

Viper Challenge Sentosa 2016, Singapore
When I got the announcement that Viper Challenge was heading to Sentosa Singapore, I was like 'hell yeah! Sign me up!' mainly because I've never been to Sentosa island. So my team and I signed up and come 23 Jan we all headed South.
I stayed at Costa Sands resort, a budget hotel about a ten minutes walk to the race village and start line on Palawan Beach. On race day, we were all (amazingly) on time and rearing to go in the first wave. After a 15 minutes delay, we were off.
Running along the beach was a different experience for many of us who have never done an obstacle race on the beach. For one thing, it was really scenic. Sentosa island really had the perfect setting for a race like this. The cloudy overcast with a cool breeze from the pristine (freaking clean) sea was perfect for a run on the beach.

Kyoto Marathon 2016 - 1 Month to Go
A month to go.
In about a month, I will be in Kyoto, Japan, pounding away at the pavement for 42km. Am I ready? Honestly I have no idea how can one be ready for a marathon. There will be always be the 'what if's, 'I should have's and 'could have'.
But throughout my preparation for the race, I realised one thing. I never regretted any of my runs - long, short, fast slow runs. I never said 'I regretted pulling on my shoes and running that 5km." Heck I dare say...I might even be starting to enjoy the run.

Switch on the Cool with Under Armour: Spring/Summer 2016 Collection
A 22km run on a Sunday morning showed me how the heat (internal and external) can severely affect my training performance. I started out at 7am and ended close to 10am with a hilly route as the finisher. Bad move because with the long slopes, my rising body temp plus the blazing sun beating down on me, my pace was badly affected.
Which is why Under Armour's CoolSwitch technology proves to be just the thing we need to keep cool when things heats up. An unprecedented edge to the fitness world, Under Armour’s CoolSwitch technology is unveiled in the new Spring/Summer 2016 Collection, hitting stores in mid-February.
