Ready, Set, Glow into the New Year with Guardian and Joanna Soh

Inspired by the idea of a New Year resolution to keep Malaysians healthy and to be better, Guardian Malaysia today ushered in 2019 with a Healthy Beauty initiative called “Ready Set Glow”. Together with Asia’s No. 1 Fitness YouTuber, Joanna Soh , Guardian is encouraging Malaysians to Join The Glow Squad and be a part of this nationwide movement to view and put these exercise tutorials to use in their everyday lives. The videos are three short exercise videos that Malaysians can incorporate into their daily routines to have a more active lifestyle to achieve a healthier Glow in 2019.

Penang "Star" Coffee, Lebuh Noordin, Georgetown

Move aside Starbucks because Penang has officially one of the best coffee with a star on it. A lot of media channels and bloggers have raved about the signature star coffee in Lebuh Noordin, Georgetown (right across Cititel Express Hotel) and I was curious to try it out.

Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow, Cecil Street Market Penang

Cecil Street Market is one of Penang's biggest food courts in Georgetown and in it, is a plethora of Penang's famous hawker food.  Sharing a wet and dry market, it's no surprise that this market is frequent by locals out to do their grocery shopping and grab a bite. When you see a queue of local Penangnites at a stall, you just know it's good and I will tell you, there were quite a number of queues. Somewhere inside this is an uncle bent over his blazing wok, whipping up individual plates of Char Kuey Teow either plain or with chicken or duck egg. After reading about this uncle online, I brisk-walked my way through rows and rows of stalls with nothing but a photo of the stall as reference. It was like a fun treasure hunt for what could be one of the nicer duck egg Char Kuey Teow in Penang.

Travel 2019 - More Japan (DUH)

As we bid farewell to what was a turbulent year, we welcome a new year once again. In 2018, I travelled. Boy, did I travel. My bank account is at an all time zero as proof of that. I am green with envy that so many of my friends are spending their holidays in Bangkok. While incredibly cooling towards the end of December, Bangkok, Thailand is a great place to visit all year round, made easy with many airlines offering Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok flights daily. Delicious food, exciting shopping hunts (cough pratunam/ chaktuchak ladies cough) and so so many instagrammable cafes popping up all over the city. Exciting times to be travelling indeed.
