Bag of Love [May]: Best of Beauty

Hey, guys!

So in April, I was invited to the Bag of Love Unzipping Event, courtesy of the Butterfly Project and got to review the April edition of the bag otherwise known as the Earth Bag. To my delight, founder of Bag of Love, Mimi announced that we will be getting the May edition as well. Yay!!

My Bag of Love May edition arrived last week and this time it was themed  'Best of Beauty' with a collection of popular brands that ranged from haircare to body wash. I loved the soft satin feel of the bag and how 'Chanel' it looked, a good indication of the goodies inside.

As always, a product list and a love letter from Mimi herself, thanking her customers for their support. Love the glam Chibi-Mimi!

Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow Hand Therapy and Lavender Body Lotion
One of the two full-sized products that came in the bag was a Crabtree & Evelyn hand lotion and it is ultra-moisturizing too. I am usually not a fan of floral-scented products because they make me sneeze and sniff like something fierce. But the smell of this lotion is light and fades as the combination of shea butter and macadamia nut oil absorbs into the skin. It also contains myrrh extract that helps moisturize your nails and cuticles. Its travel-sized tube makes it easy for on-the-go hand care. My only concern is that it might spill into my bag as the cap seems loose and comes off easily with just two twists. RM30 for 25g.

I also got a sample-sized body lotion, lavender scented which I have yet to try because I do not like lavender. But if I do, I'll let you know.

Calvin Klein Eternity EDP and Eternity for Men EDT
The scent of Eternity for women was too strong for me due to its floral notes but I can imagine that this is the perfume to wear for a glamorous gala night out. Hence, why it deserves a place in this month's bag. However, I do like Eternity for Men as there is a sharp note to it that is refreshing. I'll probably spray a bit on a piece of paper and keep it in my new cupboard to remove the varnish smell.
RM254 and RM209 for 50m of Eternity for women and men respectively.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum
At first glance, the little packaging looked like miniaturized golden balloons but as they say, good things come in small packages. This serum is good if you want to repair the skin of your face and neck as its light, sliky and non-greasy liquid infuses into your skin instantly. The amount in the pod is just enough for your entire face and neck. Just gently break off the nub at the tip of the pod and pour it unto your palm for instant use. RM320 for 60 capsules and RM420 for 90 capsules.

Dove Beauty Nourishing Body Wash
The second full-sized item was a bottle of Dove Body wash. As much as I love the smell and the texture of the liquid, I am hesitant to use it. I once tried Dove body wash and a few days later, woke up with Angelina Jolie's succulent lips due to an allergy reaction I never knew I had. My friends had a good laugh over the next few days and that was the last time I used it. The A.J lips went away as soon as I stopped using it. Hopefully this time round, there will be no surprise guest's lips. But if you do see me with pump lips, it wasn't botox. RM6.90 for 200ml.

BLOGGER FAVOURITE
Keratase Bain Oleo-Relax Shampoo and Masque
Hair products! I do so love hair products because my mane has a reputation of being unmanageable, dry, brittle and has a life of its own. One sachet of masque and my locks have regained a healthy shine and the stubborn waves that makes my hair go haywire has been tamed without loosing its bounce and body. RM78 for 250ml.

Overall, the May edition does offer the best of beauty (except Dove but that's due to my allergies...). Besides products, I also got vouchers from Crabtree & Evelyn, Calvin Klein and Amante. Crabtree & Evelyn and Calvin Klein vouchers are still kind of pricy to be used but I can't wait to redeem a basic manicure from Amante because my nails are in desperate need of one due to my nail-biting habits. Only downside is that there is no brush this time to go with the contour brush I got last month. But I'll live.

Bag of Love is available on a monthly (RM39.90), quarterly (RM119.70) or annual (RM478.80) basis. Just head over to their website here or stalk their facebook page here for quick updates.

Thanks again to Mimi for sponsoring the April and May bags for review purposes. All opinions are the writer's own.
