[Guest Post] Bohol, Philippines 2014: South Palms Resort Panglao review

What’s up, beaches?

Yes, that was my very lame attempt at a pun to show you this amazing picture of the beach BUT if my lame attempt made you laugh anyway…thank you for taking in my shenanigans! But back in business, let me just take you around the residence of mine over 3 days and 2 nights when I was in Bohol. Welcome to South Palms Resort Panglao.

Spotted within 45 hectares of beach space is a 9.3 hectare tropical enclave with just 90 rooms and villas set in the land of Barangay Bohol in Panglao, just a 20 minute drive away from the city center of Bohol Island called Tagbilaran. For those flying in and arriving at the Tagbilaran Airport, fret not for the hotel does provide a 2-way transit for the convenience of guests. You will however find that there isn’t much that you can do outside of the hotel if you’re on foot because it’s not exactly placed in the most happening spot in Bohol but if you’re up for a peaceful escapade, this is just the place you want to be in.

As I’ve mentioned, there are only 90 rooms and villas in South Palms Resort Panglao so it’s no wonder that it does get a little quiet when you’re walking around but rest assured it is very safe. It is however very dark to walk around at night because there aren’t much lights but really, why would you go out at night when you are greeted with beds like these even when you’re only residing in the Deluxe Garden  View room?

I took this picture because the light was prettily shaped like a shell to mimic the grace of the beach even in your room.

Starting at PHP 10,000 a night for the Deluxe Garden View Room, these rooms will house 2 adults and 2 children with an additional PHP 2,500 per extra guest if needed. Each guest will be entitled to breakfast and dinner at the resort and there’s complimentary WiFi for the ones who find the ultimate need to be connected all day long.

Now for those who’re seeking a lot more solace and escape from the life of being stalked all day long (Who am I kidding, we all need to be connected!), welcome to the beauty of the white sandy beach and infinity pool of South Palms Resort Panglao.

I did not choose the hammock life, the hammock life chose me.

For an extra dose of relaxation, I would highly recommend the massage services from Palm, The Spa; an in-house service from South Palms Resort Panglao that allows masseuses to come to your room for your desired massage (Except for the hot stone service) that spreads between 60 minutes to 90 minutes. This however is selective but I suggest that you make the trip over to Palm, The Spa instead because the bliss of it is that the massage is done just by the beach so while your bones are getting cricked, you’ll be pampered by the sounds of crashing waves by the sand. It is the bomb and I swear by it.
