Amway Malaysia Taps Into Cellular Health and Healthy Ageing to Address Malaysia’s Ageing Society

As Malaysia faces the challenges of an ageing population, Amway Malaysia is responding with science-backed innovations aimed at promoting healthy ageing. This milestone underscores Amway’s ongoing commitment to support the government’s health agenda and empower Malaysians to take charge of their wellbeing.

“Throughout the past 50 years, Amway Malaysia has been dedicated to helping people live better lives. We want to continue on this journey by further advancing our products and services, committed to supporting the government’s health agenda and empowering Malaysians to take charge of their wellbeing as we tackle the pressing health issues facing the nation,” said Mike Duong, Managing Director for Amway Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia and the Philippines. “Our journey is guided by science, nature and innovation. From phytonutrients to gut health, and now cellular health, each step builds on the last, reflecting our holistic approach to wellbeing.”

Addressing Malaysia’s Ageing Population with Science and Innovation

By 2030, over 15 percent of Malaysia’s population is expected to be aged 65 and above, officially making it a “senior nation.” This demographic shift, also known as the Silver Tsunami, has increased public concern over age-related health decline. A Global Advisor survey revealed that more than 60 percent of Malaysians are anxious about growing old, with nearly half feeling pessimistic about the future.

Amway Malaysia is tackling these issues head-on by educating and empowering Malaysians to focus on cellular health, which plays a critical role in healthy ageing. By prioritising healthspan over lifespan, Amway aims to help individuals stay healthy, active and resilient as they age.

Cellular Health: The Next Step in Healthy Ageing

Healthy cells are the foundation of a strong body, supporting energy production, immune function and faster recovery. As cellular health declines with age, people may experience lower energy levels, slower healing and a higher risk of chronic illnesses.

Amway is now focusing on extending healthspan – the period of life spent in good health – through science-backed solutions. By combining plant-based nutrition, microbiome support and cellular-level protection, Amway equips people with the tools to remain active and vibrant for longer.

The Three Pillars of Amway’s Holistic Health Approach

Amway’s work in health and wellbeing started with plant-based nutrition. Through the Nutrilite Health Institute, Amway’s scientists have highlighted the global shortfall in fruit and vegetable intake, with three out of four adults worldwide failing to meet the World Health Organisation’s recommended five servings per day. Nutrilite scientists use advanced methods to extract highly purified vitamins, minerals and plant concentrates for optimal nutrition.

The company then expanded into gut health, recognising the gut as the “second brain.” Amway’s collaboration with Monash University has helped create solutions tailored to Malaysia’s unique gut microbiome. Products such as GUTPROtein combine protein, prebiotics and probiotics to nourish beneficial gut bacteria, supporting wellness and cellular repair.

The latest step is Amway’s research into cellular health. After six years of screening more than 600 plants and 50,000 plant ingredients, the company identified the Golden Regeneration Combination, a five-phytonutrient complex called bATmm-5 sourced from plants such as the Dendrobium Orchid, Pagoda Tree Flower, Chokeberry, Gooseberry and Pomegranate.

This innovation is powered by the Nutrilite Intelligent Botanical System, a proprietary Smart Herb System that matches phytonutrients to specific plants. Amway’s newest product, AmCELLTM, supports cellular regeneration and is designed to address all 12 hallmarks of ageing.

From its beginnings in 1976 to its cutting-edge cellular health innovations today, Amway Malaysia continues to evolve through science and partnerships with world-class institutions including Monash University Malaysia, Stanford University and the National University of Singapore.

“Through plant-based nutrition, GUTPROtein, and now AmCELLTM, Amway continues to deliver holistic solutions that help Malaysians bridge the gap between lifespan and healthspan,” said Jason Leng, General Manager of Amway Malaysia and Brunei. “As life expectancy increases, our priority is ensuring that Malaysians enjoy their healthier years by addressing urgent health concerns such as non-communicable diseases and the challenges of ageing with strength, vitality and resilience. As we mark 50 years in Malaysia, our mission remains the same: to empower Malaysians to live better, healthier and more fulfilling lives.”
