Experience Authentic Japanese Fine Dining at KOKU by RIYAZ International in Langkawi

RIYAZ International has unveiled KOKU Japanese Restaurant and Zen Garden at The RIYAZ Lavanya Langkawi, marking the arrival of Langkawi's first authentic fine dining Japanese restaurant.

KOKU transports diners to Japan with its beautifully curated Zen Garden, designed to evoke harmony and peace. The restaurant's name, "KOKU," symbolizes abundance and Japan's rich cultural heritage. Here, patrons enjoy a unique dining experience, featuring meticulously crafted dishes that blend traditional techniques with high-quality, fresh ingredients.

The grand opening featured an exclusive dinner preview, graced by His Excellency Takahashi Katsuhiko, the Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia. Restaurant co-owners, Dato’ Sri Shaheen Shah and Dato’ Muthukumar Ayarpadde, hosted the event.

Renowned Chef Melvin Loo, with 18 years of experience, has curated a menu that redefines Japanese fine dining in Malaysia. Using ultra-premium, air-flown ingredients like Maguro (bluefin tuna), Hamachi (yellowtail), Sake (salmon), Unagi (eel), and Saba (mackerel), Chef Melvin ensures each dish reflects the essence of Japanese cuisine. Local fresh ingredients complement the recipes, supporting the local community while offering a unique dining experience that celebrates both cultures.



Chef Melvin shared his inspiration, saying, “I have always wanted to share my passion for authentic Japanese cuisine using only the finest ingredients crafted with precision and care. With KOKU, I believe diners will have that experience – my cuisine honors the integrity of natural ingredients coupled with distinctive preparation techniques, reflecting our commitment to quality and authenticity.”
