C2AGE 2015 @ HELP International School

Joining the ranks of AMG events in Malaysia to look out for is C2AGE, an event organized annually for the past nine years by the dedicated students of HELP University College. Since starting out nine year ago at HELP, C2AGE has since grown in size and crowd. 2015 saw C2AGE take place at the new HELP International School over the past week for two days and despite the isolated location and the distance from the city center, it still saw hundreds of students, parents, AMG fans and cosplayers flock to the event.

Even at 9am, a queue had formed outside C2AGE with eager beavers all prep and ready. Once past the ticketing booths, visitors are immediately guided through the school's lovely spacious garden with ample space and sunshine for cosplay phototaking before hitting the canteen area and eventually the multipurpose hall where the event was being held.

Holiday Whammy: Earthquake and MERS!

Within 24 hours, my holiday plans for the month of June literally and depressingly fell apart. In 24 hours, I went from looking forward to two holidays to drowning in the dread of yet another stressful month of work.

I swear a huge chunk of my soul just died when I got the news on the Friday morning of 5 June 2015 that 6.0 earthquake had hit Sabah.

AN EARTHQUAKE IN MALAYSIA? WHAT IS THIS LAH? OUR GEOGRAPHY SCHOOL BOOKS LIED!

My trip was scheduled to be on 26 June, three weeks after the disaster hit but with the likelihood of the path not being cleared by then, I can strike Mount Kinabalu off the list for this year (bye New Year Resolution...) and not for the right reason. That being said, my prayers goes out to the climbers and the true heroes of this unforeseen disaster, the guides and porters. This disaster affects them more than anyone else as the mountain is their source of income and need to repair the trails and without tourists, this will affect them badly.

Choosing Your First Obstacle Course Race (OCR)

The year I discovered obstacle course racing was the year my life changed. As cliche as that sounds, it is the truth. It started with my bootcamp friends convincing me to take part in Tough Mudder, a 21km distance run with an exciting and terrifying combination of obstacles - Artic Anema, Electroshock Therapy and walls...oh god, the walls.

Needless to say, I was hooked.

But taking the leap (sometimes quite literally) from pure running to obstacle course racing was no less daunting for many. If the 10ft walls and 15ft plank walk hasn't frightened off some, the distance might. However if one has been working out consistently and has the right can-do attitude aka YOLO, completing an obstacle course race can bring about a euphoria unlike anything running can bring about. I think it has something to do with the obstacle element of it. Being able to overcome a physical or mental challenge in the form of an obstacle had rewards of its own.

Tossed at Jaya review

Hidden on the 4th floor of Jaya Shopping Center is Tossed, a little cafe that serves up a mean combination of pasta and local dishes as well as awesome salad, dessert and coffee. The menu was simple enough with a nice mix of the usual pasta, local, salad and dessert dishes.

Spritzer Hot and Warm Mini Dispenser review + Giveaway!

"Drink your water. It's good for you. Drink your water or you'll dry up like a prune."

Famous words my mother nagged told me as a kid and like any kid, I believed her. So I drank. Because I didn't wanna dry up like a prune. But it wasn't until I started working out religiously on my quest to (like most girls) loose weight and get fit did I really start to appreciate the habit of drinking water.

By drinking ample water consistently throughout the day, I am able to curb my ravenous cravings and appetite by filling myself up and thus end up eating less. I also end up running to the toilet more often and hence less desk time. Did you know that drinking water has been known to increase your metabolism and reduce weight?

However, fostering the habit wasn't easy. I am as lazy as they get and if I am required to boil the water each time I wanted a drink, I believe I would sooner rather become a prune. But with the Spritzer Hot and Warm Mini Dispenser, my cup of water (or instant coffee or noodles) is just a tap away. Like literally. I have chosen the family television area for my new funky purple dispenser, courtesy of Spritzer because the whole family spends majority of our time there, just chilling, doing work on our laptops and even eating in front of the idiot box.

Viper Arena 2015

After three Viper Challenges, one has to wonder how different can an obstacle challenge get? Well, as many discovered on 23 May 2015, one can get plenty of different with a change of venue. Brought to you by the organisers of Viper Challenge, Viper Arena 2015 took place within and around the concrete walls of Shah Alam Stadium, consisting of a 7km run and 15 obstacles and not without an added twist. It took place well into the evening and overnight.

Once again, my team assembled ourselves, decked out in our orange team shirts sponsored by myNews.com and gathered at the Shah Alam Stadium on 23 May for the 630pm wave. Registration and bag drop were fast. We were given our bag tags with its number written on our arms. Even before we started, we had to help each other climb over four mini walls just to get to the start line. Waves were released every 5 minutes or so and at the shout of  'Go!', we were off.

SanDisk: Memory Hard Drives for Smartphones

Whenever I travel, I always find myself running out of memory space in my phone because I take a bucket load of photos to post up while on the go. And the one pain I have about my iPhone (beside the abysmal battery life) is the tedious process of downloading all the pictures into my laptop before and/or after the trip to make space for more.

Mount Fuji: How to Make Mountain Hut Reservations

"Let's climb Mount Kinabalu this year!"

"Okay!"

"And while you're in the conquering mountain theme, let's climb Mount Fuji as well!"

"Okay!"

I really need to stop having internal conversations with my psycho self.... Riding high on a series of fitness challenges I've set out for myself for 2015, I dimwittedly added Mount Fuji to that list. And never one to back down for a challenge (especially one that no one I know has attempted), I am determined to accomplish this by any means.

source: Google image
So as soon as my mind was made up, the research commenced. How to get to Mount Fuji, how to climb Mount Fuji, what to bring and finally, where to stay atop Mount Fuji. Of all the topics I had to look up, Mount Fuji accommodation was the trickiest.
